Add MugUp to your server
Discord’s own install flow. You need Manage Server on the server you’re adding it to.
Run /setup
Pick the deck your server works through — any public deck from the library. Also needs Manage Server.
Press Play
Each morning the channel gets a post with a Play button. That opens MugUp inside Discord.
The daily post and the results both land in the channel you ran /setup in. Run it again any time to switch decks — your server picks up where it left off if you switch back.
What it does
It’s the real app, not a bot
MugUp runs as a Discord Activity — the same game UI as the website, embedded in the client. Not a bot posting multiple-choice buttons into chat.
A daily challenge that works through the deck
Twelve questions a day, the same ones for everybody, then a leaderboard once the day wraps up. Nobody gets asked something the server has already had — and when the deck runs out, MugUp says so and asks for the next one.
Timed runs, and an all-time board
Every run shows how long it took beside the score, and the same score in a faster time takes the day. /leaderboard ranks members by how many days they’ve finished first.
Live 1v1, where the invite is a seat
Start a race on any public deck and your seat shows as open in that channel — the next person who opens MugUp there takes it. Both players need a connected MugUp account.
Any public deck, without leaving Discord
Search the whole deck library from inside the Activity, or drop one into a channel with /deck — which carries a Clone link so anyone can take their own copy.
Play without an account
Anyone in the server can play under their Discord name and land on the day’s board. Connecting an account is what makes runs count for anything.
Connect an account, and it counts
Unlinked runs land on the server’s board and nothing else — no XP, no streak day, no review schedule. Connect a MugUp account and the same runs start earning all three, and you get your own review queue inside Discord: the cards due across your whole library, playable in the channel between messages.
Three ways to connect: sign up with Discord and you’re connected already; press Link a MugUp account inside the Activity; or open Profile & settings on the website. You can disconnect from the same place — that stops future runs counting, and leaves scores already on a board alone.
A Discord run is twelve questions, whether it’s the server challenge or your own queue. Anything you don’t get to stays due — the cap is there so a leaderboard compares like with like, not to limit how much you study.
What it doesn’t do
Nothing gets announced about you. MugUp doesn’t post what you played, or when you stopped. The only things it puts in a channel are the daily challenge and the day’s results.
Flashcard pictures don’t render inside Discord. The frame can’t load them. Text cards are unaffected, which is nearly every deck in the library.
Racing a public deck doesn’t reschedule anything. You earn XP and a win, but spaced repetition only tracks decks you own — so clone the deck if you want races to feed your review schedule.
